La MG A uscì per la prima volta dalle linee di produzione ad Abingdon nel 1955, succedendo alla TD e alla TF e portando una ventata di modernità alla MG dopo la guerra. Grazie al suo stile sinuoso e alle linee basse e arretrate, il nuovo modello ha attirato l'attenzione. Nel 1958 debutta un nuovo modello "Twin-Cam", con motore alesato a 1,6 litri e testata bialbero in alluminio, oltre a freni a disco integrali.
La MG A si trasformò da docile cabriolet in vera e propria sportiva da portare in pista. I suoi 109 CV promettevano prestazioni maggiori, con una velocità massima ora superiore a 180 km/h, che le permetteva di sfidare le sue concorrenti, in particolare le Alfa Romeo.
Dopo soli due anni di produzione, furono costruite solo 1788 roadster e 323 coupé, rendendola un'auto rara e veloce.
L'auto in vendita ha condizioni straordinarie e la meccanica è stata completamente revisionata di recente con fatture dei lavori eseguiti per oltre 20.000 euro.
Dopo il ricondizionamento del motore, l'auto è stata utilizzata per meno di 8.000 km.

The MG A first came off the lines at Abingdon in 1955, succeeding the TD and TF and bringing a breath of modernity to MG after the war. Thanks to its curvaceous styling and low, swept-back lines, the new model turned heads. In 1958, a new "Twin-Cam" model made its début, with its engine bored out to 1.6 litres and a twin-cam aluminium cylinder head, as well as all-round disc brakes. The MG A was transformed from a docile little convertible into a true sports car to take on track. Its 109bhp promised increased performance, with a top speed now over 180kph, allowing it to take on its competitors, from Alfa Romeo especially. After only two years in production, just 1788 roadsters and 323 coupés were built, making it a rare and quick car.
This car has stunning condition and the mechanics has been recently fully overhauled with invoices for over 20.000 euro.
After the engine rebuilt the car has been used for less than 8.000 km.
